The Plan

Like all good things you have to begin with a plan.

A California Pac-8 reunion, a gathering of a bunch of old geezers who worked together in college athletics on the west coast in the sixties, started us thinking about making the trek by car to Walnut Creek. The idea was to see scenic parts of the country we'd never seen before, taking a leisurely drive through a bunch of states and beautiful sites.

So, we made a plan to drive across the western USA, hitting places such as the King Tut exhibit in Denver, Bryce Canyon in Utah, the Sierra Nevadas, the Mendicino Coast in northern California, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custers Last Stand and the Badlands of South Dakota.

We are beginning to map our routes, heading west to Walnut Creek for the reunion and then on to Idaho, Wyoming and South Dakota on the way back.

Departure is scheduled for September 7. The Plan? That will change a hundred times before we depart.
